To everyone who made this possible,

Mia McLaughlin and I would  would like to take a moment to thank all of the wonderful people, offices, committees, friends and families that have helped make our recent trip to El Salvador possible. Through your generous support we were able to make this experience possible and have gotten to see the impact it has had on the students involved. We know that in many ways this trip can be hard to explain and our vision may have sounded unclear at times, but we really value the trust you put in us. We were able to see a pure sense of trust, understanding, and interest in the program from all of our parents, donors, and supporters.

We have created this website  in honor of those who have helped us, and we would like to invite you to explore it in order to get a sense of the impact that this program had on the students of Lewis & Clark College. We have also listed a student written daily blog to briefly note the activities we were able to engage in so that we can share our experience with you.

We wanted to share with you the reflections of participants so you could hear how your contribution have impacted us all; so that you can see how even if the individual struggled at first, they came to love this small community of Guarjila. We have been able to make incredible relationships with these people, and learn about their past, their every day struggle, and the brutality of war. Most importantly we learned that all communities face many of these issues, even our own.
It is difficult to encapsulate the impact of an experiences such as this one, but we hope that hearing our thoughts, and seeing our photos will help. Once again, we can not thank you all enough for your generous support, we could not have done this without you!

Thank you all,

Dale Forrister & Mia McLaughlin
